A stranger on a park bench in Union Square just asked me, “Is it fixed?”
I’d like to give him an answer to ease his mind, but it depends what he means. If he’s asking about something that’s broken, then the correct answer is “yes.” On the other hand, if he’s asking about fate, or an election, then the comforting answer is “no.”
I’ll just ignore him, obviously.
I notice that people prefer using paper towels in the bathroom vs air blowers. I bet this results in more people washing their hands vs not in restaurant bathrooms. People, like the cooks and waitstaff.
If I were in the paper towel industry, I’d do a survey on this and publish the results. Better hygiene with paper towels.
My first reaction would be to say “you can’t fix something that was never broken” … But damn you David, I of course did not think of the double meaning so now I’m stumped… I’m going to have to second your “ignore” response since engaging in any further questioning of the man on the subject may lead down a rather awkward path which would lead to more questions that I probably don’t have time for..
